On March 9th, we gathered to celebrate International Women’s Day — and seven years of ProWoc — together with Implement Consulting Group.
The room was full. A live piano set the tone, conversations flowed, and there was a real sense of energy and sisterhood — the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why spaces like this matter. ✨
The evening explored the theme “Give to Gain”, which quickly evolved into a deeper question: How do you learn to play the game — without losing who you are in the process? 🤔
🎙️ In her keynote, Rikke Rønholt Albertsen PhD challenged us to see the systems around us more clearly. Understanding how the game works matters — but so does the courage to speak up when something isn’t right.
Our panel carried that conversation forward:
• Marcia Marks Laursen on giving with clarity, setting boundaries and learning to make the case for your own value.
• Signe Gro Jensen on the paradox of giving — how contribution can energise, yet sometimes be mistaken for a lack of authority
• Qasim Abrahams on the lasting power of mentorship and the doors that open when someone invests in you early
The discussion was expertly moderated by Annelise Goldstein, with the dialogue thoughtfully curated by Karina Porcelli.
As we celebrated seven years of ProWoc, it is also a moment to recognise the vision that sparked this community by founders Selim Ablo-Nielsen and Phaedria Marie St. Hilaire. The evening was also graced by Ifeoma Okpala Aina, President (on maternity leave), whose leadership continues to shape the organisation. The current board also had the opportunity to recognise Sondra Duckert, whose steady and generous contributions remain a shining example for many across the ProWoc community.
A heartfelt thank you to the team who brought the evening to life — Nyeleti, Gisela, Elsie, and Sondra — and to our partners at Implement Consulting Group — Katrine Haugaard Petersen, Ronja Wehner, Mathilde Lorin Rasmussen, and Mike Nelson— for the collaboration and for opening your space to us.
