— COMMUNICATION & VISIBILITY ● INTERNSHIP

Six committees.
One direction.
You’re the thread.

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our Communications & Visibility team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, communications, media, and public relations.
Are you passionate about digital storytelling and eager to dive into the dynamic world of social media marketing? As a Social Media Marketing Intern, you’ll play a vital role in amplifying our brand presence across various platforms.

— About ProWoc Network

We are a non-profit organisation started in 2019 and which offers career and personal development opportunities for women of colour seeking to increase their visibility and impact in Denmark. We aim to help women connect, grow, and evolve in their professional and personal pursuits.

— The Role

What you’ll actually do

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in content creation, digital marketing strategies, and analytics while working alongside a talented team dedicated to innovation and growth. If you’re energetic, creative, and ready to make an impact, this position is perfect for you!
You’ll work directly with the Director of Communications and Visibility, inside the committee.

Producing

Content

Create engaging social media content, including written posts, graphic design (using tools like Canva), and short-form video editing, to support brand storytelling on platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and potentially TikTok. Photograph and film events, volunteer activities, and community initiatives (with appropriate permissions).

Implement SEO best practices, keyword research, and e-commerce initiatives to boost online visibility.

Publishing

Channels & monitoring

Reply to social media comments and messages to build a loyal audience. Report Analytics by tracking post-performance using tools like Google Analytics to see what content resonates best. Promote upcoming community events affiliated with ProWoc committees and share impact stories.

Coordinating

Across six committees

Gather what each committee needs, set the deadlines, keep everything moving in one direction. This takes diplomacy more than design skill — everyone you’re chasing is a volunteer with a full-time job.

Running

The calendar

Assist with planning and maintaining the social media content calendar. Support event logistics, including registration, volunteer coordination, signage, event setup and breakdown, and guest engagement during events.

— Good to know

On documented voluntary service

We’ll confirm your role, term and hours in writing whenever you ask, during or after your time with us. People use this documentation for different things — worth knowing what it can and can’t do.

If you’re a foreign national: one year of documented participation in a non-profit can count toward the active citizenship requirement for a Danish permanent residence permit. The Danish Immigration Service is the authority here — read the requirements at nyidanmark.dk, then contact them directly about your own situation and what documentation they’d need from us. Whatever they ask for, tell us and we’ll provide it if feasible. Note: if your residence permit is granted on the grounds of work, the Immigration Service notes you may need separate permission to volunteer alongside it. ProWoc can confirm facts about your role — everything beyond that is between you and the authorities.

If you receive dagpenge: up to 10 hours a week of unpaid voluntary work for a non-profit generally isn’t deducted from your benefit, but the assessment depends on the nature of the tasks, not your title. Contact your a-kasse in writing and get an individual assessment before you start. Center for Frivilligt Socialt Arbejde has a guide at frivillighed.dk.
