ProWoc – Professional Women of Colour Denmark and Industriens Fond have teamed up to increase #diversity in the Danish business sector. Increasing diversity can #accelerate industry #competitiveness and therefore Danish companies must become better at utilizing all talents in Denmark.
📌 “With the support from Industriens Fond, we can advance ProWoc’s work in building valuable #networks across industries and professions. Here, women of color can share experiences with each other and get exposure to companies and organizations from the Danish #business sector,” says Caroline Onyango-Dyregaard, Head of Sponsorship and Liaison at ProWoc.
With the grant to ProWoC, Industriens Fond takes another step in its work to further diversity and promote #inclusion in the Danish business sector.
📌 “Diversity breeds competitiveness. But Danish companies are not diverse enough and do not take advantage of the #growth potential that lies in diversity. We must change that and ensure that all #talent is put into play when companies recruit,” says Charlotte Kjeldsen Krarup, Director at Industriens Fond.
The new initiative will mainly focus on supporting and expanding ProWoc’s networking events, career and personal development programming, which include tailor-made #coaching and #mentoring programs.
📌 “We want to help even more women of color to advance their #careers , develop new skills and build meaningful relationships with professionals in Danish companies. Now, together with Industriens Fond, we get the opportunity to facilitate even more activities, so that our members can participate and make a #difference in Danish companies across sectors,” says Ifeoma Okpala, President of ProWoC.
With the support from Industriens Fond, ProWoC will also be able to develop additional initiatives that promote gender and #ethnic diversity and inclusion in the Danish workplace to the benefit of both women of color and the companies in Denmark.
