It is with mixed feelings that ProWoc announces that Selim Ablo Nielsen is stepping down as President of ProWoc and will transition to the ProWoc Advisory Board later this year. We express our tremendous gratitude to Selim for founding ProWoc and look forward to continuing to work with her as a member of the Advisory Board.
Dear ProWoc members,
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I am stepping down as President of ProWoc this month and will hand over my duties to Phaedria St. Hilaire. My decision to step down is driven by family and personal commitments.
I co-founded ProWoc in March 2019 with a vision of increasing the visibility and impact of professional women of colour in Denmark, and I have overseen the building of our organization
and strategy. During that time, ProWoc has, among its achievements, hosted multiple networking events, executed career and personal development activities, launched a mentoring program, expanded our LinkedIn community to over 80 women and our membership continues to grow.
I am well aware that it is the commitment and efforts of all the board members and their teams that brought ProWoc to where it is today, supported by the enthusiasm of our members. You have been instrumental in turning the ProWoc vision into a reality. Thank you all for the support you have given me, especially board members past and present: Phaedria Marie St. Hilaire, Ifeoma Okpala, Caroline Onyango-Dyregaard, Nanyamka Braham, Nyeleti Sue-Angel Nkuna, Lorraine Henry and Cinthia Loïs Thomsen.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as President. Furthermore, I know that I am leaving ProWoc in the very capable hands of Phaedria and the board members.
I am extremely proud of the progress we have made in creating a network that is needed and valued, and I am excited about the many opportunities ahead! I look forward to continuing my work with the Communication and Visibility Committee and transitioning to the ProWoc Advisory Board later this year. I am confident that the new President and the board will take ProWoc to even greater heights!
Thank you.Sincerely,
Selim Ablo-Nielsen
