Phaedria’s statement
When Selim Ablo-Nielsen asked me about co-founding an organization for professional women of colour in Denmark, I was thrilled and said yes with no hesitation. Since our inaugural meeting in March 2019, I have driven the strategic vision of ProWoc and the building of its infrastructure together with Selim and several other talented women of the Board. I am humbled and grateful for the trust and faith the ProWoc board has shown in my leadership and that I am given the opportunity to continue developing ProWoc as your new President. Thank you Selim for your courage, vision, and leadership.
The year 2020 has challenged our humanity and the events that have unfolded recently have underscored the need for organisations like ProWoc. I am thoroughly committed to continuing to realise the mission of ProWoc and continue transforming it into a strong and powerful organization that supports and empowers women of colour in Denmark, and is an agent of positive change in society.
I am delighted to welcome our new Board and look forward to working with them. Together we will take ProWoc to new heights: we will increase and broaden our membership, provide additional career development offerings, initiate personal development activities, expand our Mentoring program and forge partnerships with like-minded organisations to realise the objectives of ProWoc.
We aspire to work closely with you – our members – at large to meet your needs, to share our stories, our networks, and promote positive images of women of colour. We welcome your input and ideas. Together, we are stronger!
