Who is Elisabeth?

I am Elisabeth Omolabake Iyore, CEO and founder of Intellyinvest Copenhagen ApS where I am a financial coach who supports you in making your money work for you and helps you afford your dreams. I am also an entrepreneur, paediatrician, mother, and grandmother.

I hold an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, a Certificate of Specialization in Paediatrics from the Danish Health Authority, and a Certificate of Subspecialization in Neonatology.

After 40 years of working in public hospitals across Nigeria, England, and Denmark and dedicating myself to treating sick babies and children, while supporting their parents through emotionally turbulent times, I chose to shift my focus in 2023. I now pursue my passion for financial investments and financial literacy on a larger scale.

Me at work ( white clothing)

I am passionate about helping women achieve financial independence by sharing knowledge on finance and investments & generational wealth transfer through public speaking on financial literacy and investing, workshops, online webinars, personal coaching and an investment course. Drawing from my professional expertise and personal journey with finances, investments, and taxes, I help people to understand their options for growing wealth, with a special focus on generational wealth transfer.

Outside of work, I am devoted to my family. I enjoy spending time with my dog, knitting, reading and travelling while maintaining good health with exercise.

Coming to Denmark and First Impressions

I have lived in Denmark for 34 years. I was born in Frederiksberg, where I spent the first four years of my life before moving with my family to Lagos, Nigeria, for my childhood and youth. I returned to Denmark in my thirties to work. Thirty years ago, life in Denmark was challenging. There were few people of colour, and in my field of paediatrics, none. That meant there were no role models and few women to share experiences with. I turned to God for strength and guidance.

Achievements

Achievements and career journey
My greatest career highlight was my decade at Rigshospitalet. In 2003, I became a registered pediatrician, recognized by the Danish Health Authorities, and went on to subspecialize in neonatology and paediatric cardiology. Working at Denmark’s quaternary referral centre for these specialties brought immense professional growth, wonderful colleagues, and valuable challenges I thoroughly enjoyed.

Important choices on her journey
Throughout my career, I have faced bias—both as a female and as a woman of colour.

However, I chose early on to stay focused on my goals and keep my eyes on the prize. Whenever I faced obstacles, I reminded myself of my commitment to reaching the top of my profession—for both myself and my children. Even when my children experienced discrimination, and school was tough, we persevered.

Key to Success

Determination, persistence, and faith have been my anchors. I am ambitious, hardworking, detail-oriented, highly self-motivated, and adaptable. I take pride in my competence and my ability to build trust. Celebrating small victories along the way keeps the journey joyful. Above all, I believe God has always had my back.

Aspirations

Aspirations, motivations and advice

I aim to uplift my community by sharing my skills, talents, and knowledge. I want to help bridge the wealth gap and continue inspiring women to take charge of their finances and discover greater possibilities for growth.
I am motivated by the knowledge that I can—and have—made a positive difference. A love of people and music fuel my drive.

Best Advice Received
My parents taught me to study hard, work hard, be generous, and treat people with respect—and these values I carry with deep gratitude. However, knowing what I know now, I would tell my younger self to “RELAX”.

Rapid Fire Question for Elisabeth.
